It is with regret that I share the sad news that Ron passed away on 17th April. He was 96.
Ron was a frequent visitor to Old Bancroftians’ Day with his brother. He shared the news with me some years ago that at the age of 83 he won a raffle for a trip in a glider and three months membership of the Gliding club. He enjoyed his trip and decided that he would have some more flights. At the end of the three months he decided to join the club and he flew under instruction weekly weather permitting for some time.
