We held an 18-hole fixture with Bancroft’s at Wanstead GC on the afternoon of 1 May.
13 pupils attended, along with 2 staff members and 6 OBs.
The format was Singles Stableford but we also used these scores to create a virtual matchplay competition with the aid of a spreadsheet to hasten the scoring.
The best score of the day was pupil Joe M with 40 points. The second best was OB Ken Perch with 39 points. The School’s average score was 28 and the OB’s was 32.
The best 4 pupils and best 2 OBs received golf balls as prizes.
OBGS won the virtual matchplay and were awarded the newly constituted golden claret jug trophy.
Our seccond fixture with Bancroft’s is on Monday 3 June at 17:30 at Wanstead GC and will be played over 9 holes.
